Batman's Super Hero Sidekicks

Batman is experiencing tough times.  His superhero sidekicks were laid off due to Gotham City's budget cuts.  The mayor hired cheaper replacements to help fight crime.  Batman's newest heroes are SEWER RATS; but these are no ordinary rats!  They're special because of their unusual abilities and large size.  However, Batman wasn't happy with their first day on the job.  See what happened when the rats encountered Two-Face, one of the city's most dangerous villains.  Check back from time to time to learn of their crime fighting adventures and special superhero powers.

Ringo is proud of the superhero capes we made!
Peter saw the "Rat Signal", something Batman uses to let the rats know they're needed to help save the city.

"Hey Batman!  We're ready to help, where's the bad guy?"
As soon as Peter and Edmund saw Two-Face, they realized he was INDEED a very scary super villain - and they hid!  Batman was very angry with them.  But there was no time to waste; he realized he'd have to handle this job alone.
"Hip, Hip, Hooray!  As always, I have saved the day!"
Peter and Edmund were ashamed of themselves, but they were also a little hungry.  It's SUPER VILLAIN SNACK TIME!
"You rats were NO help!  You better get your acts together or you'll go back to the sewer!"
"I have to get out of here and clear my head....how does the mayor expect me to save the city with the help of you scaredy-rats!?!?!?"

** Special credit for this post goes to Henry, our neighborhood pal.  He took the Batman photos!  Thanks, Henry, for indulging our silliness and loving our rats!

A New Baby!

Some friends recently had a baby girl!  Congratulations, Mike and Hannah!  I can't wait to see Penelope in person!

Knights of the Rat Table

Sir John of Canterbury got word that the most dangerous dragon in all of Europe had arrived in the village.  He and his fastest rat prepared to meet the beast head on to keep the village safe.
"Prepare to meet your doom, dragon!"
"Charge, Peter!  We must defeat him!"
Peter couldn't fight because he was too busy eating snacks!  So, Sir John of Canterbury took his 2nd fastest rat, Edmund, to help him slay the dangerous dragon.
"Take that, you horrible beast!  Leave our village at once!"
Sir John of Canterbury was no match for the dragon.  However, his trusty side kick, Edmund, wouldn't go down without a fight.
Edmund had no luck, so Peter stepped in and defeated the dragon. He saved the whole village!

Extreme Rat Racing

Molly and Edmund are getting ready for the big race.  Rat jockeys must be in tip-top shape for the conditions they face.  They ride cross country at astonishing speeds, traveling over mountains, through deserts and even the ocean!

As always, Edmund finished the race in record time.  But poor Molly...she just wasn't cut out for such a demanding sport.  Rat racing isn't for the faint of heart!

Snack Bandits of KooKoo Town

There were once two rats (a brother and sister) named Johnny and June. They were snack bandits in search of yummy food and they went from town to town wreaking havoc on the locals.  These were no ordinary rats; they were GIANT mutations!  There wasn't a man, woman or child who hadn't heard of them! One day, they made their way to the town of KooKoo. This town was was special because they didn't want to exterminate the rats.  They hoped the Johnny and June would come to love KooKoo Town and stay to protect them from dangerous outlaws. Well, those snack bandits wouldn't be won over easily. There were many battles between the rats & locals.  Lots of tears were shed and lots of boo-boos were sustained.  But in the end, the townspeople earned favor with the rats, and a sweet romance was born between June & the local sheriff.

June is about to steal her first treat from a citizen of KooKoo town.
These bandits are eating yet ANOTHER stolen snack!
Oh No!  Johnny smells cake!
Some folks wore helmets to protect
themselves from rat bites!
Johnny gave this poor horse a bad boo-boo!!
Johnny even looked up this lady's dress!  How rude!
This was the town's biggest battle with
Johnny and June.
One day, a truce was made....
... and everyone in town eventually grew
to love these giant rats!
Johnny changed his ways.  He let the children of
KooKoo town ride on his back!
Johnny says sorry and gives this little girl a kiss.  After all, he did steal her candy!!
Johnny's heart softened; he apologized to every single person he had wronged.
Time passed.  Hearts (and bite wounds) healed.  Everyone forgot about Johnny & June's outlaw days.  But that's not the end of our tale!  A sweet romance was born between June & Sheriff Augustus.  This beautiful wedding ceremony was a reminder that the war between the rats and locals had finally come to an end!
